Joseph D. Vallosia

Joseph D. “Danny” Vallosia, 73, Greentown, died at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at his home. He was born April 6, 1938, in Vigo County, the son of Joseph D. and Anna (McKillip) Vallosia. On Sept. 20, 1957, in Greentown, he married Connie J. Vallosia, who preceded him in death July 11, 2011.
Danny was employed by Kingston Products for 24 years. He went on to work for K-mart Automotive, Hulces Supermarket and Eastern Elementary School.
He loved gardening, watching Indiana University basketball, Cubs baseball, Notre Dame football and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Danny coached little league in the 1960s and ’70s and softball in the early 1980s.
He was a 20-year member of the Greentown Special Police.
Survivors include his five children, Debbie Hainlen (Len), Greentown, Danny Vallosia, Greentown, Kim Sprague (John), Walled Lake, Mich., Dennis Vallosia, Greentown, Tami Mann, Greentown; seven grandchildren, Jason Towne, Kayla Vallosia and her fiance, Jonathan Harris, Eric Hainlen, Brandon Hainlen and fiance, Kourtney Cox, Christopher Sprague, Erik Mann and Sara Mann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two children, Kenneth Vallosia and Kandie Vallosia.
Funeral services were Friday, March 2, at Hasler and Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Lynn Coleman officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
